The Squat
If you want to know how get thick thighs, squats are the thing for you. If you aren’t a very serious body builder you should try to avoid this exercise as you will need a lot of energy. Squats could be done with barbells.
You can do squats with weights on your shoulders or held near your chest in front. Your heels can be raised or kept down while doing squats. You should do different types of squats with three sets of ten repetitions
- Barbell Squat – You will need weights, a squat rack and an Olympic bar to perform this squat. Heels must be raised and squat downwards until your thighs are in line with the floor. Enough weight must be forced so that it will be hard to reach ten reps.
- Wide Stance Barbell Squat – Again heels must be raised and legs spread broadly, your knees must be pointed outwards in this squat so you can get an inner thigh work out.
- Hack Squat – Yet again your heels must be raised with the barbell behind your gluteus, when the barbell touches the floor it is a complete squat. This exercise is very effect when learning how to get thick thighs.
Leg Presses

- Leg Press Machine – When you are seated in the machine you will decide whether you want to work your outer, inner or upper thighs by your foot placement on the foot pads.
- Decline Leg Press Machine – In this machine the placement of your feet decides what section of your thigh is being worked. If you work out deeply enough your gluteus will also get worked.
- Leg Extension Machine – This machine can work your outer, upper and inner thigh right down to your knee.
- Thigh Curls – If you use a cable –and–pulley machine with ankle straps or a thigh curl machine which executes curls to build the hamstring or thigh bicep muscles.
- Abductor and Adductor Machines – These machines can work the hip flexor as well as the inner thigh. For the overall look of your thighs these two muscles must be developed. You can use a cable-and-pulley machine if these machines cannot be acquired.
- Dumbbell Lunges – This workout can build the gluteus and back thigh muscle as well as your lower body and hip flexibility.
